Honesty is the Best Policy

Before I left for Asia last June, a blogging buddy gave me this award! Whew! So even with a what-do-I-write-here reaction, here is a shot at this “pass-it-on/getting-to-know-you-better” list of TEN things about me. I have enjoyed reading what Annette has written about herself, so am giving this one a chance. Thank you so much, Annette, it’s an honor to be thought of. This is my first award here at blogger.

Almost at the same time, a good friend, Leo Mar, tagged me. The mechanics of Honest Scrap award is similar to being tagged, so am combining everything in this post, guys. Thank you, Leo –it warms my heart to be remembered. Items 11 to 16 are for being tagged by Leo.

Ten Things about ME

1. I am a kindergarten teacher and have been for the past 16 years. I like working with young children, they are fascinating creatures. Never a dull moment when I’m with them.

2. Lately, I am crazy for Jack in the Box’s Stuffed Jalapeños. At the end of the day, after school, my carpool buddy, Poorva, and I have a ritual of driving through to pick up an order of the seven-piece stuffed jalapeños and we take turns having the extra piece.

3. My husband says, I talk in my sleep –nuff said! Hehe

4. I’m hooked on DVD marathons; one time, I watched the almost-complete Harry Potter series except for the last one.

5. I have a tendency to fall asleep whenever am sitting on the passenger seat of a moving vehicle. Say, 5 minutes when I’m really tired. On a regular basis, give me 10 and I’m completely lost in dreamland.

6. Belts out anything from Dido, Alanis to that hard English accent in My Fair Lady’s “The rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain.” Love to sing -not that am good at it.

7. I am fond of watching Broadway Musicals. I love anything Broadway. My favorite is Miss Saigon.

8. I am forgetful but thoughtful. I would forget where I left my purse, but I remember birthdays and special occasions. I also remember the slightest thoughtful gesture friends show me. Is this selective memory? Hehe –dunno.

9. I have a peculiar habit of eating chips with chopsticks.

10. I believe in the power of prayer and I uphold the value of family and friendship.

11. At the end of a tiring day, going online relaxes me –most of you guys would know what I mean.

12. Enjoys taking photos. Am not that good with the technicalities yet, but I love to capture life as it evades me with its constant spin…

13. I like hanging out with friends and laughing our hearts out.

14. I collect shoes and bags. If there’s anything, I like them in different colors. I consider it an outlet of my self-expression!

15. Am into Arts and Crafts. From sewing, scrapbooking, painting, to polymer clay, to decorative wood work, murals…etc. Not that am good at it, that doesn’t really count. I like to surround myself with the things that I created.

16. Garage sale queen. I find treasures in the most unexpected places. Three years ago, I chanced upon one of my most valued ‘find,’ my piano! A Baldwin -priced at ONLY $700. (brand new of this type is around $3,000) Mine was in very good condition, slightly used and the keys are soft! It’s a steal! Cool huh!
