San Francisco Hotels

There are a lot of beautiful scenic spots in San Francisco California. We have visited several, one of which is the Fisherman's Wharf. It is made up of the waterfront area of San Francisco from Ghirardelli Square to Pier 35. It is popular for Pier 39, a shopping center and popular tourist attraction. One of the things that attracts people to Pier 39 are the friendly sea lions that are hauled out on docks at Pier 39's marina. The sea lions who have made Pier 39 their home were first sighted some time in September 1989. They have stayed since then. The locals make the seals feel safe. From the pier, there are scenic views to be enjoyed. To name a few, Angel Island, Alcatraz, the Bay Bridge and the famous Golden Gate Bridge.

Exploring the infamous Alcatraz Island

Pier 39 is just one of the many sights that can be enjoyed at the Fisherman's Wharf. The San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, the Wax Museum, Forbes Island are all accessible and within the area.

What is traveling without a little shopping at the side. Other than the various souvenir shops, The Cannery Shopping Center is a good place to get good deals. Down the road is Chinatown.
Fisherman's Wharf also provides different types of entertainment. A video arcade, street performances, the Aquarium of the Bay, virtual 3D rides an interpretative center for the Marine mammal Center and many others. You can also search online on information about things to do.

Treat your palate to Fisherman's Wharf's restaurants. The place is famous for restaurants that serves fresh seafood -yum! Doods, I and several friends enjoyed clam chowder served with sourdough.

Blue Mermaid Chowder House and Bar

Accommodation is not a problem, there are a lot of cheap San Francisco hotels in the area. It is advisable to check hotel pricing online long before the planned vacation, this way you get better deals and buy yourself time to canvas and shop around. There are several good websites to check when looking for hotels near Union Square SFO.

Golden Gate San Francisco

The trip won't be complete without experiencing the cable car ride that takes you along the slopes of San Francisco

No wonder Tony Bennett left his heart in San Francisco!
