My friend, Cherry called me Monday. Their turtles got lost and the kids are sad. Those turtles use to be ours (Doods' and mine) we had them for a year. In the summer of 2007, we went on a road trip. We gave the turtles to Cherry's animal-lover son, George. When we bought the turtles three years ago, they were less than two inches long. Last time I saw them, before they got lost, they measured about six inches already.
Last weekend, it has been raining for days and Cherry's pond overflowed. The turtles wandered away and must have gotten lost. They had the turtles for over two years and they have formed an attachment already. (So sorry guys!)
Several times, Cherry's kids have been planning to set it free in the wild (park) but have been apprehensive that the turtles might not know how to find their own food since they are used to being fed with pellets.
To George and Frances, sorry to hear about the missing turtles, guys.

I am still hopeful that the turtles are just wandering around the yard and will still be found.

My son loves turtle too, and we used to have a baby one two years ago..
Hopefully, the turtles will come back!
I've always been fascinated and curious about turtles. Are they an easy pet?
Maybe they are in the yard somewhere and will come back soon. Turtles are so interesting. I love the sunbaking photo, he really seems to be enjoying the sun.

I hope the turtles come back. We have tortoises and turtles in our yard. Sometimes they dig a burrow and hide out for weeks especially when the weather gets cold.
i am so sorry but i hope they will come back or u will find them
Growing up we had a red eared terepin that adopted us, it wandered around the yard living on insects and lettuce for many years never leaving the confines of the yard. It would disappear for sometime going to places, i have no clue about, but always reappear.
Thee is a good chance these will also!
The turtle must have gone for an adventure. It will return once it get tired. Home is still a sweet home.
Oh no... that couldn't be the turtle that I found...no no, we are way too far. Sorry to hear about it.

so sorry to hear about the lost turtle. i hope it will come back soon. Kyla loves turtles too. sometimes we go outdoors just to watch turtles.
My old family house used to have a turtle pond in the backyard. He was a real huge one! Stinker too hahaha! But of course we loved him... sadly after so many years being with us, one morning he was gone. I guess he was old and decided to go find peace before the passing.
Hi there Tes..(I'm Regina/Kilauea Poetry)..you did mean me right? Denise posted just above me. Thanks for dropping by anyway and for the nice comments. I was amazed at how easy Picasa is.

Awww...aren't these tortoises cute. They are tortoises right? Or terappins. :p
Ha! I was just about to tell you that Al found a turtle on the streets but that was in PI. Anyway, I can relate as to how those kids would feel coz I also owned two turtles as a kid, love them as pets, not so noisy and not a high maintenance pet.
