Breath-taking sunset at Clarke Quay, Singapore. Sadly, this was my first and last experience with Clarke Quay. Doods and I including our family -nine of us- visited Singapore last July 2009. We stayed for eight days, with so many wonderful places to see, we never had a chance to return to any of the spots we've already visited.
Clarke Quay is famous for it's pedestrian mall. At present, five blocks houses restaurants and nightclubs. We had dinner at one of the restaurants by the quay. We enjoyed the view -city lights and it's romantic reflection on water, brightly-lit ferries parading before us. Another popular attraction in the quay is the flea market held every weekend.
River cruises are also available aboard bum-boats with uncanny names such as Singapore Explorer or Quay Challenger. The cruise will give you a chance to experience Singapore's past, this is evident in the colonial architecture from ex-government buildings. But as the picture shows, one cannot fail to notice Singapore's modern skyline, a testament of progress.
This shot was taken aboard one of the ferries.

This is a really beautiful photo! Perfect sky and sunset reflecting in the water. You've really done a fabulous job capturing the pink highlights on the clouds.
Thank you for visiting my blog and your nice comment on my Scenic Sunday photo.
:D
That must have been a wonderful sunset ride on the river. I love the sky colors in the water.
What a pretty sunset for your ride on the ferry. You are so right it is a breathtaking sunset.
I've never been to Singapore, I would love to visit some day. Your sunset photo is absolutely beautiful!
You have missed out Malaysia in your list, ha ha!!
BTW, you have captured Singapore so nicely.
Hi Tess,
I love Singapore. My visits have been all too brief, several days only, at the start and end of cruises on three occasions. I love it there ( except for the heat ) - the wonderful blend of ethnicities but many speaking English, the hawkers centers with every fabulous type of food one could want, representative of countries in the regions, plus seafood, fruits, etc, exotic plants, flowers and orchids, clean, safe streets, bright, colorful sights.
The sunsets and sunrises are glorious.
wow..lovely view..
such alovely shot! I never get to see clark quay at such a time :). It is always either during day, or after the sun have set hehehe :P.
What a gorgeous sunset! I like the light in the sky and on the water.
lovely sunset picture Tes, I love the colors on the sky and its reflection on water. i guess that's what happens most of the time in trips, we hardly have time to go back, however, if we like it so much and knows there are a lot to go back to, we also make plans to re-visit the place.
That's a beautiful sunset and city shot.
Although, I'm their neighbour, I have not set my feet to Singapore except to the Changi Airport. Hehehe
I've been to Clarke Quay twice and I enjoyed the place! Your sunset photo is beautiful!

Happy Monday! :)
At least you have been to Clarke Quay once Tes. I have never been there. :(
Yep very nice place Tes.
Tes, thanks for your comment concerning the past typhoon, I know this is too much but we can't do anything about it but pray. Yesterday the cemeteries are not really overcrowded, people opted not to go due to the typhoon, but today is a sunny day, I bought the flowers (mums)and was very expensive. Grabe!
