I missed blogging, have so much to post but very little time, what with my sister and her family spending the two-week winter break with us, and the usual yuletide get-together here and there.
Oh well, I decided to do this quick post because New Year is just around the corner and my Christmas posts are all stuck elsewhere but here. Anyway, a week before Christmas, Doods and I spiced up our little garden at the front yard. Last time it snowed, some plants withered and others died. The thing is, my sister's husband and her three daughters (ages 9, 10 and 11) are spending Christmas in America for the first time, we want the experience to be special. An added bonus are the good deals at most plant stores during this time of the year.
Here's a little part of My World, my life.
We can't wait for the buds to bloom
Instead of plain mulch, we added roses that turned the oak lively!
I do not know the name of this interesting parasite.
Camellias, hardy up to 10 degrees!
Beautiful camellia
Those camellia buds bring promise of abundance. . .
They look happy. . . I am happy!
The cyclamens look healthy
They glow in the sun
These cyclamens are generous with their blooms.
Berry-like fruit from the Poda-corpuz
Garden jar to jazz up an empty space.
They look so lush. Love it!
The effort was well worth our while. My nieces love the flowers... and the butterflies!
Mulch, the secret of healthy, happy foliage.
Voila! Who would have thought it snowed a couple of weeks before this photo was taken!
"A flower's appeal is in its contradictions - so delicate in form yet strong in fragrance, so small in size yet big in beauty, so short in life yet long on effect." ~Adabella Radici
To kind blogging buddies who went out of their way to inquire about me during my absence in the blogosphere, thank you so much! I appreciate it. All is well, am just caught up in the swirl of the season!
Yesterday, Doods and I celebrated our 13th anniversary! How time flies. . .
