Window Boxes

I have  window boxes planters and loving it. A  window box  is a type of container gardening. I personally love container gardening because it is very good for those places that are awkward for traditional gardens. I have an odd spot just outside my door within our porch. For a long time, I can't make up my mind what to put in that odd space until I saw my friend's window boxes. I checked several garden stores around my area but they have very limited choices. So I tried to go online and to my delight found that there are endless arrays of styles and designs that would best that little corner in my porch. Finally, I ordered several  window plant boxes  and lined them out outside my tiny porch and in a snap, voila, a dainty, low-maintenance garden.

There are several other features about the window flower boxes that I and my friends really like about. For one thing, these things are flexible. You can plant almost anything from spices, to flowering plants to hanging plants, tiny shrubs, fruits, vegetables. You you do not have to worry too much about the environmental conditions since you can move your window boxes in and out of the house any time.

Another friend of ours who live in an apartment, used garden window boxes outside her window and the blooms greet her every morning. In fact, she has become so fond of the blooms, that it has become a habit to sit by her beautiful window whenever she comes home from work. The blooms and their sweet scent relaxes her. Also she said the flowers on her window box decorate the outside of her small building.

That is a pretty box of flowers. My husband had a square foot garden one year. He grew a variety of vegetables.

They are gorgeous. But too bad. Most houses in Malaysia don't have these. :p

I think window boxes and hanging baskets do so much to beautify, especially small spaces that can't have traditional gardens. Even a bright burst of color can perk up ones spirits and add so much to a home.
