Some three weeks ago, Doods and I drove to Galveston, Texas (an hour's drive away from Houston). We stayed on the beach, walked along the shore and frolic with the waves. After driving near the sea wall, we reached a port and saw several pelicans. I was fascinated. It was my first time to see these creatures.
Pelicans are gentle creatures. They are so friendly, some would even allow a human to touch them lightly.

Wow...so many of them. They are tame? :p
simply gorgeous!
Awesome shots of the Pelicans. They are cool looking birds.
These are wonderful picturs of the pelicans. I'm glad they allowed Doods to hang out with the gang.
I was blown aways with all the photos, gorgeous Tes!
The Flock of Seagull and my family wants to say Happy Weekend!
Hi Tes, When I lived in the Clear Lake area (for 12 yrs), we used to love to go down to Galveston. Glad to hear that it is coming back after Ike devastated that area.
I love seeing the Pelicans...You all got some wonderful pictures.
Hugs,
Betsy
What great pictures! You really caught the essence of these magnificant birds. I grew up in Texas and haven't been to Galveston for years. How is their reconstruction coming along?
I loved each and every one of these! Thank you for letting me on the trip with you. :)
how wonderful to see all the pelicans, great photos
Tes: Wonderful captures of the neat pelicans. That was a special close-up. They look like they have no fear of humans.
Your pictures are all delightful. I didn't pelicans could be so friendly or entertaining.
Hello Tes, they are indeed curious looking creatures. Lovely closeups of our fine feathered friends.
Beautiful photos of Pelicans..just simply intriguing.
Hi Tes, wow, wonderful pictures. I did not know pelicans can be touched, maybe pelicans in your area are much used to people, over here, though it is close enough to civilization, actually they mingle with the civilization, but still, I don't think we can come near them and they would fly away :( it's so nice to see the white and brown pelicans mix together, we don't see that here. we only see the white pelicans in the inland lakes while brown pelicans are at the ocean, they don't go to the lakes. so, your last picture is so unique to me, love all of them.
OMG... these are nice photos but honestly... it will scare me out of my wits to be near them. In my case, birds are nice when they are afar or in photos... but it gives me creeps when I am near one. It's just me. thanks for sharing they are beautiful.
Hi Tes, what wonderful photos you've taken! I loved each and every one of them. I like the photo of your husband with "the gang"! Looks like a fun day out.
WOW - super photos of the pelicans!
LOVE the closeup of the eye!
Getting close paid off - these are wonderful.
Thanks for your visit. :)
I love every single one of these! How fun to capture your husband so close and being a part of the group! You really got some amazing poses...love it!
These pelly pics are sooo good, but I love the close up SHY ;-)shot best. These bring back memories of a newspaper article I once cut out of a lost pelican found on the coast of England. He was nursed back to full health by his handler. The pelican fell in love with her, guess all that free fish made all the difference. Will have to see if I still have it.
Oh wow..beautiful pelicans! I thought they are mean, but you've convinced me..
Fabulous shots of very special moments! I like pelicans very much too!
Nice photos, esp the 2 white ones waiting for lunch.
Absolutely beautiful. Love pictures of animals, they are so natural. The last one I could frame. :-)
that's a lot! I only saw 1 in the harbor
