Uprooting to Another Country

Seven years ago, a school district in Texas came to our country, the Philippines, and offered some 20 plus teachers, including my husband and me, a teaching position in Houston. We saw it as a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow, to explore another world, and adopt to a new way of life.

The change was not drastic, but the uprooting phase was emotionally difficult -leaving behind friends and relatives. Coming out of our comfort zone was not easy. Breaking and shifting paradigm did a good job in assisting us to accept and live a new lifestyle and even adopt a culture foreign to us. The technical side of  moving to Texas wasn't at all easy either. Those who have children had a bit too much to pack, and had to consider hiring  Texas Moving Companies. Pre-planning a move is an important aspect of an international move. Instead of stressing over the technical side of "moving," others appointed Texas International Movers  to arrange this task for them. These Texas movers are reliable and reasonably-priced. All and all, the "move" went well.

Now seven years later, here I am sitting in my blogging chair, making a mental assessment of how we have been in this not-so-new world. I'd say, most of us (if not all) did well, some even did very well. We have learned so much professionally and have adopted with very little effort.
