Dive Into the Season’s Sexiest Swimwear

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Express for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Last Spring break my sister and her family drove all the way from Arizona to Houston, Texas to visit us.Their first request was for us to take them to the beach since it's somthing they don't always see in Arizona. We took my sister, her husband and our four nieces to Galveston beach. We were amazed by how huge the crowd was considering the water was a bit too cold at that time of the year. But the sun was up and it warmed us as we splashed and enjoyed the waves. The thing is, we were not equipped with the proper swim suits. Since my sister and I lost a couple of pounds from our recent dieting stint, our swimwears were uncomfortably ill-fitted. Well, we did not turn model-sexy, still a well-fitted swimwear would be good for flattering some basic curves and will do wonder in hiding some flabs that still need some toning -hahaha!

We checked online and saw several women's swimwear that we really like! Check out the newest arrivals in the Express Spring 2011 Swim Collection!  I particularly love the simple lines of this two piece swimwear. It's simple yet elegant and looks comfortable too.

This very becoming wrap also caught my attention. The shape is flattering and the print can disguise the extra flabs that I have yet to work on. *winks*

Making the Most Out of Spring

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pier 1 for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Doods and I, together with our helpful nieces, Cate and Yam, have been working on our yard since January when we came back from our Christmas vacation. Sounds too early for gardening? Not really. The thing is, it is so easy to mistake spring as the best time to garden but actually spring is the blooming time. The planting and pruning happens in late winter. If you delay, your plant might not catch up with spring. If done correctly, late winter garden preparations get your plants ready for healthy, vivid and generous blooms.

At this time of the year, our efforts are paying off. The yard is looking real good. Makes me feel as if it can roll with the "seven wonders of the world" (teehee) Anyway, I do not want to be caught up with too much gardening. I need to slow down and enjoy what we have been toiling hard for. Before you know it, spring will past and it will become too hot to enjoy the yard (especially here in Texas!) So we have to get our act together and maximize this wondrous season of clean, cool air colorful and fragrant with blooms.

We have some old benches that have seen better days. Geez, Doods want to repair them, but that might take time. It's time for some new patio furniture! Yay! We saw several really nice sets at Pier 1. We got our breakfast nook set from Pier 1 way back in 2004 and it is still looking good -classy and durable. I like the styles in Pier 1, they have that earthy look that fits our lifestyle. The diverse selection makes it easy for us to find what we're looking for. Normally, when we shop for furniture, we check it out first online and then when we get the chance, we visit the store and try it out.

My nieces particularly love Pier 1's iconic papasan -sassy and comfortable. Doods and I are wishful of  Pier 1's Sunset Pier Outdoor Deluxe Settee with matching chair. The white Jardin de Marie outdoor armchair and its matching table with its intricate design would surely create a beautiful contrast against our green lawn. Pier 1 has diverse selection of beautiful indoor and outdoor pieces such as rugs, seating, wall décor that can go well with their classic furniture.

Exciting events are coming your way. Watch out for these upcoming Pier 1 Tweetups. in Atlanta: April 5th and NYC: April 20th.

March 20th marked the official start of spring. I feel it is time for Doods, I and the girls to put away our shovels and gloves and enjoy the product of our hard work. Yes, a time to start making the most out of spring. Sit long, talk much over brunch or a candle lit dinner. Come join us!

Start Your Career Debt Free

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Ashworth College for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Recently I was on the phone with a friend who has been stressing out about her tenth-grader and eight-grader. The thing is, in a couple of years, her two kids will leave home for college. More than the empty-nest phase she's likely to go through, she's more worried about the huge expense of sending a child to college. On top of the  costly tuition fees, there would be board and lodging and expensive books to add to the list.

However, I had to mention to my friend that in one of the career orientations given in our school, I remember hearing about online learning, some people call it "Distance Leaning."  These educational institutions offer more for the money. This set-up is fast becoming popular because of its practical approach to education. Why pay for multi-million dollar campus with huge stadiums and olympic-sized swimming pool when online programs such as  Ashworth College can cost up to 50% less than traditional college. At Ashworth, you can even accelerate your online program, reducing expenses further. This set up will allow you to arrange your studies around a full-time job.

With this affordable set-up, it would be easy for the graduate to start his/her career debt free. How nice it would be to be able to graduate without debt (as many Military graduates do because of their large benefits combined with Ashworth's low prices).
