Jump @ Alphabe-Thursday

Jump for Joy!

My husband (long-haired guy) and some friends goofing around San Antonio, Texas. The challenge was to be photographed goofing in public -in this case in the middle of a busy road. Hahaha.

They look as if they're  flying! Hahaha!

Here's my husband (Doods) and our three nieces. This was taken @ Wupatki National Monument, Arizona

Am now off to go jumping from one blog to the next... here I come!

Selena Gomez in Monte Carlo

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Monte Carlo for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Geez, it has been so quiet here since my two nieces, Cate and Yam, left for Arizona to spend a month with their parents. I miss them a lot, especially since am alone most the time -Doods has summer school the whole June. But even as I miss them, I er..enjoy having quiet time to myself as well –teehee. Waking up any time I feel like it (some 30 minutes later than usual –hehe).  Gardening, crafting, blogging… a lot! Hahaha.

I have to admit since the girls moved in with us last year, I have been introduced to a lot of tween sitcoms like The Suite Life of the Zack and Cody, iCarly, Sunny with A Chance -among a few, but our  favorite is Wizards of Waverly! Who would have thought I’d enjoy a tween sitcom, but I do. I like the whole bunch. The kids are funny and the parents are downright hilarious. Selena Gomez makes us laugh.

My nieces are crazy for Selena Gomez, the lead girl in Wizards of Waverly.  Last March, we took them on their very first concert when Selena Gomez performed at the Houston Rodeo. But this July something big is coming, a Selena Gomez movie! Yay!  I can’t wait to take the girls to see Monte Carlo. The movie will be in theaters July 1st!

At the end of the month, the girls and their parents are driving to Houston to spend the rest of the summer break with us –just in time to see the movie.  Am so looking forward to some bonding time with my sister and the girls! This might prove to be a good movie to watch. Methinks I’ll check out  Fandango and pre-order our tickets to avoid the hassles of waiting in the line.

It's Raining!

Today, I woke up to the sound of pouring rain! Unlike other rainy days, today is different. Today's downpour can literally save homes and wild life. It has not rained for a long while - the plants are wilted, the grass has turned crunchy and it's just so humid everywhere. Some days ago, wild fire broke and consumed a lot of wild life and homes! It still blazes as I type...

I grabbed my camera and ran to our bathroom and took this shot.

I lifted the glass to get a clearer shot of the rain, but I can't focus on the raindrops, it kept zooming on the yard!

At least the plants are looking wet from where I stand. I can almost hear the plants partying! I have been doing a rain dance with them for a long time now! Horay for rain!

I raced downstairs to capture the spout

Alas, the raindrops seem to contrast on my neighbors black truck and can now be seen through my lens!

The streets shimmer with rain! It makes me want to dance in the rain!

Can you see the rain?

Rain, rain, please do NOT go away
Kill the wildfire and make our wildlife stay
Hear me and my plants as we pray
Rain, rain please dance and stay!

Playing With the Geese

Therese and Yam excitedly trot towards some feathered friends... but alas...

Why the  fearful stance?

The girls were greeted by some hostile creatures -hahaha! They must've caught the geese off-guard -making them defensive.

No worries, the geese warmed up after some time.

Incomparable Icay @ Alphabe-Thursday

My youngest niece,  "Icay,"  turned one last May 18th! How time flies! Last year, June 2010, Doods and I drove to Arizona to attend her Christening.

A couple of weeks ago, we took her to Galveston beach. Photographed here with my husband, Doods.

Doods and I are crazy about Icay! :)

This is my first entry for Alpha Thursday. I discovered this fun meme from my friend, Cher of Sweet Memoirs

Fish City Grill @ Sugarland, Texas

Over the weekend, two girlfriends and I went out on our usual resto sampling. We all love to try new things. Whenever possible, we visit places we have not tried yet. Last Saturday, we checked out Fish City Grill @ Sugarland Texas. We really liked the place. The general ambiance was warm and cozy. The place is clean and comfortable.  The person who waited on us was friendly, courteous and professional.  The food, awesome! Most often than not, seafood restaurants give us a scare for being pricey, but not this place. We were surprised at the quality of our meals -cooked fresh and just right -not soggy or too flaky as often the case with fish. Portions are good and prices not bad.

Salmon Salad
Grilled Atlantic salmon fillet with asian noodles and capers, over mixed greens, tossed in our roasted shallot vinaigrette.

Shrimp and Andouille Mac and Cheese
A creamy blend of three cheeses, grilled shrimp and andouille sausage.

Po Boys
Chicken served on a fresh baguette with remoulade,
lettuce and tomato, fries or coleslaw.

My girlfriends, Cherry and Rossa

Curious about how much I spent on my meal? Less than $10. And we're talking about fresh catch! Cool huh!

Friendly folks, Serious seafood!

Clean and cozy family friendly place

Wine by the glass or by the bottle

The place offers full bar service, a quality wine list at friendly prices and awesome frozen margaritas.
Cocktail, anyone?

Dining outdoors is one of Sugarland's summer pleasures.

All things said and done, we say the place is highly recommended! We can see ourselves coming back to Fish City Grill any time of day!
